Longtime Leeds jazz/soul/global beats promoter DJ Lubi continues his monthly residency at Hyde Park Book Club Leeds with a summer soul showcase on Sunday 8th June.
Headline artist Sinead Campbell is an Irish-Jamaican British soul singer-songwriter blending modern R&B with vintage soul influences.
A northern powerhouse soul singer delivering a timeless fusion of vintage soul and modern R'n'B, she writes and sings songs rooted in her working-class upbringing and dual heritage, exploring themes of belonging, empowerment, and ancestral connection.
Her most recent single received BBC Radio 1 airplay and she has performed at festivals such as The Great Escape and Live at Leeds, sharing lineups with legends like Soul II Soul, Basement Jaxx and Arrested Development.
2025 is shaping up to be Sinead’s biggest year yet, after recently playing a sold-out BBC Introducing show in Bradford, Sinead is gaining momentum fast with her new EP scheduled for early summer release. She’s being championed by well respected Leeds independent record label Come Play With Me as a “Next Up North” breakout artist. Inspired by artists such as Erykah Badu, Cleo Sol, Corrine Bailey Rae, Kali Uchis, Amaria, Shania is an incredibly creative, passionate and dynamic artist who aged just 19, self-released a debut album (“A Year In The Life” - October 2024). With gigs lined up in London, Leeds (Leeds Jazz Festival), and Liverpool (Sound City), Shania Sabrina's musical career is definitely on the up.
