A female-fronted night filled with soulful lyrics and vocals, fusing contemporary jazz, neo-soul and pop into an EPIC once in a lifetime event!
After a steady break from performing alongside her band, Romy Taylor shall be returning to the stage! Join the night for a boogie (and potentially some blues) and celebrate fresh new music and releases.
Romy Taylor is a singer, songwriter and performer who grew up in the south of Spain. In the past year, Romy Taylor has played We Out Here Festival as well as selling out her debut headliner in Leeds. Throughout the years she has had many appearances on BBC Introducing West Yorkshire and North West, as well as Radio 5 Live. Taking inspiration from artists like Nai Palm, Eloise, Björk and Minnie Riperton, she combines an atmospheric floaty-feel with catchy sing-along melodies. She writes her lyrics for the girlies who intellectualise their emotions. Alongside her Leeds-based band, Romy’s upcoming releases will encapsulate a unique and captivating sound, combining jazz, neo-soul and her Spanish influence.
Our opening support Marmalade Skyes, is the captivating project of singer-songwriter Asher Hayes, featuring a dynamic live band that brings her rich and soulful style to life. Marmalade Skyes uses poetry and metaphor to explore themes of introspection and story-telling.
And the following support, will be Kneil, the female-fronted group incorporates distinctive electronic elements to create an exciting soundscape that embraces the band's combined eclectic taste. Kneil present fresh ideas to the already vibrant and diverse soul scene, and are cooking up a storm of remarkable tracks ready to be heard.
