Aged 18-30 and want to know what goes on behind the scenes at record labels? Our first NextGen Community event of 2025 lets young creatives in on everything they need to know.

Join us at Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds for a panel discussion on the world of record labels, for artists and budding label execs alike.

Come down to find out how our panel of industry experts launched their careers at labels, the role of the record label in today's music industry, and how to know when it's the right time to sign on the dotted line. You'll learn about the differences between majors and minors, the impact of the internet on artists' discovery and development, and top tips for negotiating the best deal for the stage you're at.

After the panel, enjoy a performance from NextGen Funded artist and Youth Music Awards 2024 nominee Claudia Fenoglio, followed by an open mic and networking session.

Signups to the open mic will be first-come, first-served once doors open. You can register your interest to perform by ticking the question box at checkout, but this will not guarantee your performance; slots will be very limited, so arrive early to sign up and avoid disappointment. For the open mic, please bring any instruments you would need for your performance.
