First DJ Lubi jazz show of autumn at Hyde Park Book Club features the Leeds debut for some young rising stars on the London jazz scene. Not To Be Missed (NTBM) is an electric jazz fusion band formed and led by guitarist Tjoe Man Cheung and features some top London musicians including trumpeter Grifton Forbes Amos (TC & The Groove Family/Steamdown/Blue Lab Beats).

TJoe moved to London from Hong Kong in 2020 and immediately threw himself into the vibrant jazz scene in the capital, playing with a host of established names and leading his own band. He had the opportunity to perform alongside renowned jazz artists Cassie Kinoshi, Isobella Burnham, Tyrone Isaac Stuart, and is a core founding member of the Orii Community Jam Session and house band. Additionally, he's collaborated with emerging artists such as Cherise, Elmiene, Bina, Brown Penny, PYJÆN, and Bel Cobain. Tjoe has also performed at notable events like Glastonbury Festival 2023, CrossTheTracks 2023, We Out Here Festival 2023, and Leeds Jazz Festival 2023 (at Brudenell Social Club as a member of PYJÆN).

As well as working with all these artists, TJoe leads his own band Not To Be Missed (NTBM) The group, which includes musicians Ben Crane (bass), James Morgan (drums), Grifton Forbes-Amos (trumpet) and Marco Marotta (saxophone), is known for their electrifying blend of Western jazz and Eastern Asian influences. Grifton, of course, is well known in Leeds having lived in the city from 2018-2021 when studying jazz at Leeds Conservatoire.

They've gained recognition for their much acclaimed debut EP "Late Show" (released summer 2023), and have captivated audiences with performances at top London venues resulting in sold-out shows at Jazz:Refreshed and the “Late Late Show” at Ronnie Scott’s before hosting their own jam-packed headline gig at the legendary venue last December.

In September 2024, they will play outside London for the first time at a handful of dates including this debut north of England show in Leeds. Come and check out some future UK jazz stars making firing original jazz fusion for today.
