Theo Vandenhoff is an artist from Toronto who creates infectious and melodramatic anthems for the painfully lonely and hopelessly romantic.

Vandenhoff twists a multitude of influences, mostly from the 70s and 80s, into his own brand of off-kilter pop music. His unique tenor screams vulnerability as he recounts his poetically veiled yet deeply personal lyrics over a wall of persistent drum grooves, reverb laden bass riffs, and soaring synth & guitar hooks.

After the release of his debut EP Heartache Is An Empty Room, Theo Vandenhoff began to play frequent shows with a live band consisting of Tom Nixon on bass, Callum Crombie on guitar, and Sava Solar on drums. These performances have been met with great excitement within Toronto’s burgeoning live scene and on their 2023 tour of the UK and Ireland. Vandenhoff’s stage presence is erratic and captivating, the live arrangements offer a full and dynamic sound to contrast their wall of clinical synth sounds. By osmosis, the project’s creative process became more collaborative as the music itself began to be written with their newfound sound in mind.

Upon returning from their 23-date UK tour supporting cult anti-folk act Crywank, Theo Vandenhoff’s sophomore EP, In The Throes Of Love, solidifies a progression to being the enigmatic frontman auteur of a fully fledged band, with each member supplying their own vital element to the project’s evolution.
