Leeds based outfit Prima Star Power is the brainchild of songwriters Connall Doo and Louis Lota (both lead vocals/guitars). Taking inspiration from 60s iconoclasts Scott Walker and Lee Hazlewood, as well as the cinematic worlds of John Cassavetes and Federico Fellini, Prima land at baroque-pop via the vintage sounds of London, Paris and LA. With their new E.P. Theatre Fortuna, crunchy lead guitars meet strings head-on in the two singles “Mr. Flight” and “Maybe Someday”, whilst more sentimental moments such as “I Guess That’s What True Love Looks Like” and the title track ruminate on a more introspective approach to songwriting and arrangement.
